- 2002-2004 – Preliminary fact finding visits to BPOs in Metro Manila
- 12 February 2004 – Dumaguete joins eServices Philippines, an event organized by the Department of Trade and Industry; Dumaguete has the opportunity to present it’s case at one of the sessions
- 10 May 2004 – Epixtar does a press release on setting up a Dumaguete site
- 30 May 2004 – Ernest Cu of SPI Global visits Dumaguete as graduation speaker at ACSAT
- 2 June 2004 – Dumaguete does a presentation for CEOs at Tower Club, Makati, and at the SPI Global
- 18 August 2004 – Investment Forum at the BOI
- 27 August 2004 – SPI Global announces at a press conference that its Publishing Services Division would be locating in Bacong, Metro Dumaguete
- 20 September 2004 – PEZA passes a Board Resolution reducing the land area requirement for IT Parks outside Metro Manila, hence allowing for the first PEZA park in Negros Oriental
- 8 October 2004 – SPI announces at a second press conference that they have started hiring and are beginning to move into their Bacong offices
- 23 September 2005 – SPI inaugurates a new building at their Bacong site
- September 2005 – Dumaguete City crafts the First Mover Incentive
- October 2005 – NeoIT includes Dumaguete in their study on “Outsourcing to the Philippines: Metro Manila and Beyond”
- January 2006 – TeleTech begins recruitment activities and starts out in a non-PEZA building while a purpose-built facility is being set up for them
- August 2008 – StudentUniverse inaugurates its Dumaguete offices
